IU Police Hunting For Prowler Involved In Assault

Last updated on Wednesday, December 12, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University Police are looking for a man prowling around the student housing area who assaulted another individual.

IU police say the victim saw a man looking into the widows of a house along Indiana Avenue, so he confronted him.

The suspect took off running down 7th Street and, at 7th and Fess Avenue, the suspect turned around and came at the victim.

The two got into a fight and the victim got punched in the head, but then the victim hit the emergency police button nearby, causing the suspect to run south.

The suspect is described as a white male, just shy of 6' tall, medium build wearing gold-rimmed glasses, short hair, stubble on his face and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt under a tan jacket.

IU police ask anyone with information on the incident or the suspect to call the Investigation Section at (812) 855-4111.
