FBI Removes Files From Bloomington Doctor's Offices

Last updated on Wednesday, December 19, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - FBI agents and Bloomington Police are reportedly inside the offices of a prominent Bloomington physician.

The Bloomington Herald-Times says law enforcement officials have been spotted around the Bloomington offices and home of Dr. Kamal Tiwari, the man partly responsible for the founding of Monroe Hospital.

No details have been released, including details of the bureau's official involvement; however, Bloomington officers and agents in FBI jackets have been spotted near the offices and home of Dr. Tiwari.

Bloomington's Sgt. Jeff Canada has told WBIW News they are assisting FBI agents in an action, however, he cannot divulge further details.

FBI Special Agent Wendy Osborne has told WBIW News the official position of the FBI is that they can neither confirm nor deny any investigation at the moment.

In October, Bloomington Surgery Center officials recommended patients of Tiwari get tested for various blood-borne diseases including HIV and AIDS since, as they allege, Tiwari recycled needles in his anesthesiology patients. Whether or not current events are related to that investigation is unknown.
