Domestic Fight Results In Tremendous String Of Charges

Last updated on Monday, December 10, 2007

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man is facing a number of charges after fighting with both a woman and a Mitchell police officer late Saturday night.

Preliminary reports say 31-year-old Michael Sluder and his female companion, Holly Tincher, were at a residence in Mitchell, allegedly in a physical fight when police were called.

Police stopped the couple in their Dodge pickup at the BP gas station in Mitchell. After the officer made contact, Sluder and the officer allegedly got into a physical altercation, causing Lawrence County to send 3 deputies to back up the Mitchell officer.

Police then ran information on both Tincher and Sluder, and that's when Sluder was found to also be wanted on warrant in Greene County...and Tincher allegedly took off in the pickup.

Lawrence County officers caught up with Tincher and arrested her, and brought her to the Lawrence County jail along with Sluder.

Tincher stands charged with unsafe start, passing in a marked no passing zone, and at least 6 counts of disregarding a stop sign, most likely more.

Sluder was charged with resisting arrest by force, resisting by fleeing, battery on a police officer, public intoxication, criminal mischief, domestic battery, intimidation of a police officer and criminal confinement.
