Alleged Drunk Driver Gets Car Stuck In Corn Field

Last updated on Thursday, December 13, 2007

(BEDFORD) - An allegedly drunk Bedford man ran his car off the road and through a corn field.

Lawrence County Sheriff's reports say 20-year-old Mark Caraway Senior was traveling eastbound on Trogdon Lane when he approached the curve to turn on to Kentucky Hollow Road.

Caraway reportedly missed the turn, ran straight into an embankment and became stuck in the adjacent corn field.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the incident and noticed Caraway had allegedly been drinking, so they have him tests for intoxicants.

A certified result came back that Caraway had a blood alcohol content of 0.13, almost twice the legal limit. Caraway was charged with drunk driving and taken to Lawrence County jail.

His two passengers were uninjured.
