(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana University Police Department is investigating a number of bogus bills that have been turning up at campus facilities.

On Halloween, police received reports of at least 4 counterfeit $50 bills turning up at shops in the Indiana Memorial Union. The Starbucks in the Union had 2 show up during the morning, with a 3rd almost passed off at the IMU Sugar and Spice coffee shop. Lucky for them, they didn't have sufficient change in the till to accept it.

Then, shortly after 11:00 in the morning, 2 more people passed fakes at the IMU Burger King. The clerk at the restaurant says a large group of 20 or 30 kids were inline when a male and female cut in line, the female passing one of the bills to the male.

Clerks describe the man at the Starbucks as being college age, white, around 5'6" tall, thin, and unshaven, wearing a gray hoodie. The man at the Burger King was about 5'10", white, average weight with blonde, curly hair that puffed out. The woman was white, slightly overweight, 5'8", with blonde hair with a brown tint, light colored eyed and big ears.

IU police ask anyone with information to call the investigation section at 855-4111.
