Meeting To Discuss Controversial Bedford Turkey Farm

Last updated on Friday, November 30, 2007

(BEDFORD) - The controversy over a proposed confined feeding turkey farm in Bedford will get a public airing at the Lawrence County 4-H Expo Hall.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is hosting the public hearing December 13th at 6:30pm in order to determine whether or not they should issue the permit for the proposed farm at State Road 450 and Coxton Road.

Apparently there is some dispute over the placement of facilities as it related to neighbors' houses and to the road.

For questions and concerns over the meeting and the farm, call Tyson Long at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management at (317) 234-3540.
