Lawrence County Residents Face Charges Of Generosity

Last updated on Thursday, November 29, 2007

(BEDFORD) - A number of Lawrence County residents face being locked up next Wednesday, all of them being accused of wanting to help kids suffering from muscular dystrophy.

A serious accusation that could see them locked up at the mock jail at the R Street Bistro until they can get friends and family to make bail for them!

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is hosting a "lock-up" at the bistro at 1133 R Street in order to raise both money and awareness for patients suffering from neuromuscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy that the charity sponsored by Jerry Lewis serves here in Lawrence County.

Each "inmate" is looking to raise $1,300 in bail money donations.

Muscular dystrophy can cause muscle wasting, heart and respiratory problems, curving of the spine and other problems for kids and adults.

People looking to make a donation or otherwise help the Muscular Dystrophy Association here in Lawrence County are encouraged to call (317) 824-4800 or stop at the R Street Bistro Wednesday between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
