(COLUMBUS) - A man accused of stalking an elderly man and attempting to rob him in his home also is suspected of stealing prescription medication from at least seven Bartholomew County homes.

26-year-old Columbus resident Robert Riley was recently arrested on preliminary charges of attempted armed robbery, battery causing serious injury and burglary.

Police believe Riley helped a 74-year-old man load a television into his truck at the eastside Wal-Mart Oct. 5 and followed the man home, attacking him while trying to steal the TV.
