(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University police are searching for a pair of suspects in a mugging that occurred near the Read Center residence hall on campus.

Early Saturday morning, police officers were dispatched to a call near the dormitory regarding a robbery that had just occurred.

Police made contact with the victim, who had a large cut on his forehead. According to the report, the victim was approached from behind by 2 male suspects that allegedly clubbed him over the head with what was described as a "log."

The muggers knocked the victim to the ground, stole his wallet, and took off running in an unknown direction.

Police describe the mugger that struck the victim as being a white male, around 6 feet tall, skinny with short brown hair, dark clothing and possibly blue jeans. The second mugger was not able to be seen clearly.

IUPD asks anyone with information to call (812) 855-4111.
