(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police think they have their man from a 2-month-old attempted robbery.

Police say 2 months ago, a 61-year-old man was clubbed over the head with an axe handle for not giving his money to an attacker.

Bloomington detectives identified 46-year-old Richard North as a potential suspect in the attack.

On Monday afternoon, Bloomington police responded to an accident caused by a person who failed to stop at a stop sign and caused a multi-car pile-up. The responsible driver is allegedly Richard North. A witness to the accident chased North to behind a business near country club road where police made the arrest.

North is facing charges of robbery and operating a vehicle without a license.
