Two Arrested After Boasting Theft

Last updated on Wednesday, July 11, 2007

(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford women were arrested on theft charges after they told an acquaintance they had just stolen some beer from Bueler’s Buy-Low grocery store on 5th Street in Bedford.

Police were later flagged down by the acquaintance and told where they could find the two women.

Police then went to the home of the perpetrators which was about a block away and found 25-year-old Julie Essick and 20-year-old Kaitlin Essick running out of the back door.

After catching up with the women, police arrested both on theft charges and disorderly conduct.

Essick was additionally arrested on public intoxication, resisting law enforcement by fleeing and illegal consumption.
