Variances Requested For Local Properties

Last updated on Tuesday, July 3, 2007

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Zoning Appeals heard from several people Monday afternoon who want changes to their properties.

Mary Fran New was looking to add a carport to the side of her home which would butt right up next to her neighbor's land on "R" Street.

Originally, all parties were in agreement, but further investigation showed that rain water could possibly seep into the neighbor's home. The decision was tabled until more information can be obtained.

Meanwhile, Michael Root requested a variance to construct a business garage at his residence on Newton Street, near Breckenridge Road. His neighbors were pleased with the improvements Root has made so far and told the board to allow the change. It change was approved by the board.

And Stewart Raiden, with Stone City Products, asked the board to allow him to add on to an existing warehouse located on 7th Street. The board also approved his request.
