(BEDFORD) - Two Mitchell men were found to be in possession of marijuana after being spotted by police in the old Wal-Mart parking lot on 16th Street in Bedford.
Police saw one man rolling a cigarette and then watched the two driving erratically. When police stopped the pair, they found two small bags of marijuana.
45-year-old Michael Collins and 47-year-old James Gaines were both taken to the Lawrence County Jail and incarcerated with the drug charges.
Bedford Police Chief Dave Jarrard says drug use in Bedford and Lawrence County is an ongoing problem.
Jarrard encourages residents to call the police department if they see any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
