4-H Queen Contest Kick Starts Fair

(BEDFORD) - The 4-H Fair Queen contest will be held on Friday, July 13th at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds.

As of this writing, 13 young women from around Lawrence County have signed up to participate in the queen competition.

On Sunday, July 8th, a boot camp will be held for the Lawrence County 4-H Queen contestants vying for the title in this year's 4-H Fair competition. All candidates will meet this Sunday beginning at 1:00PM. The second meeting will be held on Monday, July 9th, at 5:00PM.

Practice will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 11th and 12th with the competition being held on Friday, July 13th, at 7:00PM at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds. Contestants will also be featured in the Limestone Heritage Festival 4th of July parade.

In addition to the queen contest, the Little Miss 4-H Contest is returning this year. Ladies, ages 6 to 9, can compete in a miniature interview and stage presence event.

Applications for both competitions are available at the Fair Board office or by calling Raegan Atchison at 812-583-1153.

The Lawrence County 4-H Fair runs Friday, July 13th through Saturday, July 21st.
