Bedford Man Dies Of Head Injures

Last updated on Tuesday, July 24, 2007

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man has died after he was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Lawrence County police say 28-year-old Devin Neff suffered severe bleeding to his head following a motorcycle/car accident.

Neff was driving his motorcycle behind 41-year-old Becky Tumey's auto. Tumey reports that she saw Neff in her mirror and thought he was driving a bit fast.

Tumey then notes that as she was attempting to turn onto Leatherwood Circle from U.S. Hwy. 50, Neff tried to apply his brakes but slid into the rear of her vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene confirm that Neff seemed to be driving at a high rate of speed.

Neff was taken to Methodist Hospital by Air-Evac helicopter in critical condition Sunday afternoon. Hospital officials say Neff died on Monday morning.
