(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after a call to the Bedford Police Department.

Police say a caller reported that he was being followed too closely and requested the help of an officer.

When police arrived at Newton Street and Breckenridge Road they found that 23-year-old Joseph Abner, of Bedford, had a prior conviction of driving while under the influence.

19-year-old Hogan Abner, of Oolitic, was also found to be in possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Police found tablets of clonazepam on her person.

Both individuals were taken to the Lawrence County Security Center and incarcerated.
