(BLOOMINGTON) - A Monroe County woman diagnosed with tuberculosis has been isolated from the public.
43-year-old Dorothia Clinton is being treated at an unspecified location. Monroe County's health department isn't giving much information about how the woman's illness was found, what type of TB it is, or how she contracted it.
The health department says Clinton was isolated because she hadn't followed advice of medical professionals. She's apparently responding well to treatment.
Tuberculosis is caused by bacteria spread from person to person through the air.
Symptoms include chest pain, a bad cough that lasts for three weeks, weight loss, fevers and chills.
