(BEDFORD) - The man who uncharacteristically killed his girlfriend Sunday has a lot of friends and relatives wondering what happened.

70-year-old John Reynolds called police Sunday afternoon to report the stabbing of 67-year-old Sue Magner.

On Sunday, Lawrence County Police went to Reynolds' home in Needmore and arrested him on murder charges. Police say Reynolds talked to them in a calm manner during the whole ordeal.

It is unknown exactly why Reynolds became so malicious, but some say he was suffering from cancer and the medication he is taking may have contributed to the killing.

Reynolds remains in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting his first hearing.
