Man Arrested For Possession Of Stolen Handgun

(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville man was arrested on several charges after he was caught speeding at 18th and “M” Streets in Bedford.

Officers stopped 42-year-old Lindley White after he was spotted with a radar gun. White was discovered to be inebriated and transporting a 7-year-old boy.

Police also discovered White had a .44 Magnum Ruger in the vehicle. The gun had been reported stolen from Riley County.

After taking an alcohol breath test, White was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, neglect of a dependent, possession of a handgun without a permit, and possession of stolen property.

The boy was given to his grandmother following the incident.
