Last updated on Thursday, June 21, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - Just hours after Indiana University football coach Terry Hoeppner died, his family was taking part in a groundbreaking for his pet project, a 55-million dollar upgrade of the school’s athletic facilities.

Hoeppner died Wednesday morning at the age of 59 from complications of a brain tumor.

Later in the afternoon, his wife Jane and other family members wore Indiana's crimson and cream as they attended the tearful ceremony outside I.U.'s football stadium.

Indiana University will use its basketball arena to say farewell to its football coach. Assembly Hall will host a "Celebration of Life" for Hoeppner at Noon Saturday.

Other services for Hoeppner will be private.
