Last updated on Monday, June 11, 2007

(BEDFORD) - Bedford police received a rash of phone calls on Sunday reporting items stolen from automobiles.

Bedford Police Major Dennis Parsley says the reports were centered around the 1300 and 1400 blocks of 18th and 19th Streets, also the 1700 blocks of "O," "P" Streets and one on "N" Street.

Various items such as CDs, glasses, and even a dictionary, were stolen from the parked cars. Parsley says one of the cars caught on fire when the thief attempted to remove a dashboard radio.

Parsley notes that police have a description of the burglar. The suspect is a tall thin white male, in his late 20s or early 30s, with short brown hair.

If anyone has any information, contact the Bedford Police Department at 275-3311.
