(BEDFORD) - A dramatic accident on Hearth Road and Pleasant Run Road near Bedford sent a young man to the hospital with chest injures.

Lawrence County Police report that 20-year-old Michael Collins, of Springville, tried to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle and ran off the road and into a ditch.

Collins lost control of his auto and struck a tree. The vehicle then began flipping end over end, hitting the roadway and finally sliding to a stop.
