(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - A Mitchell senior has been appointed by Indiana Congressman Steve Buyer to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Nicholas Porter is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, the top Chemistry student in 2005, and a Who's Who Among American High School Students.
Porter is also a 4-year Varsity Letterman on the football team, an All-Conference tight end for two years, as well as a 4-year Varsity Letterman for track.
Potter will enter the Class of 2011 at the naval academy.
