Bedford Woman Arrested In Roland

(ROLAND) - A Bedford woman is in the Martin County Jail following a report of a disturbance involving a firearm.

State Police were called to investigate. After a brief chase Trooper Ken Miller discovered the vehicle abandoned near Roland. The suspects had fled on foot. A 12-guage shotgun was located in the trunk of the vehicle.

A few hours later a female was spotted walking her dog near Natchez. She gave officers false information but was later identified as 25-year-old Julie Essick. Police discovered she was wanted for failure to appear warrants in both Lawrence and Orange Counties. She also had a warrant from Monroe County for theft. Essick was taken to the Martin County Jail.
