(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig is looking to replace the old padded room at the Lawrence County Jail.

Craig went in front of the Lawrence County Commissioners Tuesday to inform them that the damaged padded room has been removed. He requested that a new room be built.

The board asked Craig about a restraining chair. He said that would not work since someone would have to be with the prisoner at all times and liability issues would outweigh a new padded room.

Craig said he would get quotes from various companies. He estimated the cost of a new room would run about $20,000.
