Trial Continues For Bassett In Bartholomew County

Last updated on Wednesday, March 7, 2007

(COLUMBUS) - Trial testimony included statements from a former cellmate of Robert Bassett Junior Tuesday.

Doug Johnson told the court that he was first offered $10,000 dollars to kill Bassett's nephew, a key prosecution witness in Bassett's quadruple murder trial. But Johnson said Bassett switched targets to Kathleen Burns, Bartholomew County Chief Deputy Prosecutor.

Bassett is on trial for conspiracy to commit murder. Bassett is a convicted killer serving four lifetime prison sentences without parole for the 1998 deaths of a Seymour woman and three children.
