(BEDFORD) - Students at Stalker Elementary School in Bedford were not allowed to leave the school after a nearby neighbor spotted a man in his twenties drop some coins and run from the scene.

Bedford Police were called to investigate. They called on K-9 officer, North, to try to track the man down.

Witnesses say they saw someone leave in an automobile near the scene.

Students were allowed to leave in the afternoon and North Lawrence Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Dennis Turner and Assistant Superintendent Gary Conner stood nearby to watch the children as they left the school.

Police say they have a few leads to go on with the investigation.
