Police Arrest Bedford Man After Accident

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was charged with an infraction and misdemeanor after he slammed into a Bedford woman’s vehicle with his auto.

24-year-old Carlos Martinez was attempting to turn onto 16th Street from Brian Lane Way when 66-year-old Ronda Groves was going straight through the intersection. Martinez hit the side of Groves' auto and then left the scene of the accident.

Police later found Martinez and gave him an alcohol test. His blood alcohol registered at .21. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, improper turning, operating a vehicle while never licensed, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment.

Neither Martinez or Groves suffered any major injuries.
