(COLUMBUS) - A Bartholomew County man has died after apparently trying to save his possessions as his home burned to the ground.

51-year old Tim Acree was pronounced dead of a heart attack at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Acree was able to get his family safely out of the burning house, but returned himself for a load of belongings.

The fire's cause has not been determined.
