Power Outages Hit Indiana

Last updated on Wednesday, February 14, 2007

(UNDATED) - Power outages have been occurring around the area due to icing of the electric lines.

The Bloomington area was hit the hardest with nearly 5,500 customers without power. Ice is sometimes blamed for power outages when a tree, weighed down by the ice, falls and hits a power line.

Power outages have been most prevalent from a line beginning at Terre Haute and shooting through Bloomington, Columbus and west of Cincinnati, Ohio.
