Local Hospitals Still Offering Flu Shots

Last updated on Wednesday, February 7, 2007

(BEDFORD) - With the cold temperatures and snowy conditions, people have a better chance of catching the flu.

According to the Centers for Disease Control the flu season hasn't peaked yet and it is not too late for vaccination to be useful.

Officials at both Dunn Memorial Hospital and Bedford Regional Medical Center say there is plenty of flu vaccine locally.

Randy Young with Dunn Memorial Hospital says the Walk In Clinic at the Dunn Hospital Complex on Mitchell Road welcomes those who want a flu shot. He says the cost is $20 a shot and Medicare and Medicaid will be accepted.

Tina McCormick with Bedford Regional Medical Center says they will have a free vaccine clinic this Friday from 11:00AM to 3:00PM. The clinic will be held at the Nursing Administration office at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
