House Fire Spotted By Bedford Street Workers

(BEDFORD) - Fire fighters from the Bedford Fire Department were called to a report of a house fire Wednesday morning.

Workers from the Bedford street department spotted the fire in the alleyway between 21st and 22nd Street near the Bedford Baptist Church. No one was home at the time of the call.

Smoke was billowing from both ends of the one bedroom structure when fire fighters arrived. The home is owned by Jason Beretta, Steven Pence was renting it. Fire officials say there was extensive damage to the inside of the recently remodeled home. The fire went from the main floor to the attic area. There were no candles or heating units in the home that could have sparked the fire.

Bedford Fire Inspector Rusty Key will continue his investigation today to determine the cause of the fire.
