(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - A Bedford North Lawrence student has learned he has been nominated to enter the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Mitchell Osborne has been chosen by Indiana Congressman Steve Buyer.
Buyer says Osborne has an impressive record at BNL. He participates in its award-winning band and is Vice-President of the National Honor Society. Osborne is active in his church youth group going on mission trips.
Osborne will be part of the class of 2011 academy.
