Bloomington Parents Upset Over Remarks

Last updated on Thursday, February 8, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON) - Parents of two students expelled from a Bloomington parochial school say they were blackballed when they refused not to talk about alleged comments by a priest at the school.

Anne McLaughlin and Andrew Shea contend Father Charles Chesbrough called some young girls "blond bombshells" and referred to Korean students as "chopsticks".

Most parents agreed to sign a letter saying they wouldn't talk about the incidents, but McLaughlin and Shea refused.

McLaughlin, whose children are now in the Richland-Bean Blossom school system, calls the letter "un-catholic" and says her faith tells her to stand up for what she believes.
