Area Schools Win Science Olympiad

(VINCENNES) - Bloomington High School South and Tri-North Middle School in Bloomington both placed first in their respective divisions at the Regional Science Olympiad held at Vincennes University over the weekend.

Both schools will now advance to the State Science Olympiad March 31 at Purdue University Calumet.

More than 150 students competed at the Regional Science Olympiad at Vincennes University representing 7 high schools and 6 middle schools. They competed in almost 40 contests that tested students' knowledge of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers, and technology.

This is the 15th year that VU has hosted the Science Olympiad Southwestern Region Competition. The National Science Olympiad will be at Wichita State University May 18-19.
