Polles Withdraws Recount Bid, Truitt Remains In Seat
(LAFAYETTE) - Republican Randy Truitt will remain state representative for House District 26.
Democrat John Polles withdrew his challenge of the race during a hearing before the Indiana Recount Commission Sunday.
Since the recount request was withdrawn, the original results certified by the county election boards last month will stand.
Polles was not at the recount hearing, but his attorney says after the Warren County absentee ballots in question were accepted, there was little chance of reversing the outcome.
Truitt says he remained confident in the system and is proud of the campaign he ran and his conduct throughout the recount.
