(BLOOMINGTON) - Former North Carolina Senator and Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards broke 3 months of silence when he came to speak at Indiana University last night.

Edwards spoke of last week's election saying "vision" is the biggest asset President-Elect Barack Obama will bring to the White House.

Edwards also spent a good deal of time talking about poverty in America, and also praising the efforts of former Vice President Al Gore on environmental issues.

However, the topic that caused his extended period off-the-radar, his extramarital affair with 42-year-old campaign staffer Rielle Hunter, wasn't mentioned nor asked about.

Edwards admitted to the affair on an interview with ABC News' Bob Woodruff in early August.
