Sec. Of State Rokita Responds To Voter Purging Criticism
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita has made a response to a New York Times article stating Indiana is one of several states that is purging voters from the rolls illegally.
Rokita says he is responding to reports of fraudulent voter registration by groups such as ACORN and others, and says he is doing what he can to make sure those who are registered are who they say they are.
The New York Times accused Indiana, along with other swing states such as Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, of purging voters from the rolls in violation of federal law, saying registration officials made purgings within 90 days of the election and/or used social security information improperly.
