(UNDATED) - Their votes don’t count, but Indiana high schools have been weighing in on the presidential race.

Six Indianapolis high schools were scheduled to vote in mock elections for president, but there's been so much interest this year that more schools have signed up to vote this week. Even some elementary schools have asked for a presentation from the county's "Y-Vote" program.

The mock elections are a chance for students to see for themselves how the county's voting machines work. At schools voting last week, those who will turn 18 by Election Day were able to register to vote for real.

Republican John McCain carried two Catholic high schools, Roncalli and Cathedral.

But Democrat Barack Obama ran up huge landslides at Ben Davis and the Westside Charter School Indianapolis Metropolitan. He also carried Brebeuf and Lawrence Central to take a 61%-31% lead, with Perry Meridian set to vote on Thursday.

Libertarian nominee Bob Barr has gotten 4%.

The remaining 4% have gone to write-ins.
