Final Gubertanorial Debate Today, WBIW To Air Live
(BLOOMINGTON) - Governor Daniels and challengers Jill Long Thompson and Andrew Horning meet in Bloomington tonight for their third and final debate.
The first two debates were town-hall style, with questions submitted by voters. Some of those submissions may still be used, but former Indianapolis news anchor Tom Cochrun, acting as moderator, will be able to ask his own questions and follow-ups.
IUPUI political analyst Brian Vargus expects the candidates to stick to the same styles and themes they've used so far, and doesn't expect the debate to change the race much.
Vargus says the final debate is always the least watched, no matter what office is involved. By this time, he says most people who care about the race have made up their minds.
Vargus says Long Thompson's best chance to get mileage out of the debate is to unveil a new proposal or line of attack that's noteworthy enough to be a news story in itself.
Make sure you tune in Tuesday to 1340AM WBIW as we go live to Bloomington to bring you the final gubernatorial debate from the IU Auditorium at 7:00pm.
