Ellsworth Defends "Yea" Vote On Bailout
(EVANSVILLE) - 8th District Congressman Brad Ellsworth says even though many people in his district were opposed to the Wall Street financial rescue plan, he felt passing it was the right thing to do.
Ellsworth voted for the $700 billion package both times to came before Congress. It was defeated the first time in the house and passed the second time.
The Democrat says his votes were not to "bail out" Wall Street executives, but to help people in the 8th district. He cites a man he heard from who had lost 40% of his 401(k) in one day.
