Will Obama Make Saturday Stop In Indy Or Not?
(WASHINGTON) - A CBS news blog reports Barack Obama’s campaign won’t confirm or deny reports that the candidate is planning a stop through Indianapolis Saturday.
Reports suggest a "major event" is planned in Indy. Obama is expected to announce his pick for vice-president this week.
Rumors about an Obama stop in the Circle City started with a report in Tennessee's Nashville Post saying the Illinois senator was due in Indy this week to speak with Senator Evan Bayh, leading to further speculation that Bayh could get the VP nod.
That report was then repeated by CNN's Suzanne Malveaux.
However, Obama's Indiana campaign spokesman John Swain told WBIW News he was unaware of any travel plans by the senator that would put him in Indiana.
Network Indiana contributed to this report.
