Long Thompson Visits Closed Cabinet Plant
(RICHMOND) - Jill Long Thompson — the Democratic candidate for Indiana Governor — met with Master Brand Cabinets workers Wednesday in Richmond.
275 Master Brand workers lost their jobs when the Richmond plant immediately shut down its manufacturing operations.
Long Thompson says plant closures are becoming all too common in Indiana. Long Thompson stressed education and new energy technologies were keys to bringing good-paying jobs back to Indiana.
Master Brand workers will be paid for 60-work days and will be covered by insurance for 60-days. Work one officials were also present at the meeting to offer guidance for after that time period.
