Obama Closes In On "The Clinch"
(UNDATED) - Another split decision in last night’s Democratic presidential primaries, this time in Kentucky and Oregon.
New York Senator Hillary Clinton ran away with the Bluegrass votes. Illinois Senator Barack Obama cleaned house in the Beaver State.
However, this isn't news just because it was a presidential primary, it's also a major turning point in the election, specifically for Obama, who now holds claim to a majority of all pledged delegates available.
At this point, Obama needs just over 60 more delegates to clinch the nomination, meaning, going by CNN's numbers, he needs just about 20% of all remaining delegates, super or pledged, to bring it home.
That means he can get creamed in the last remaining primaries, South Dakota, Montana and Puerto Rico, and still technically win.
However, polls are showing Obama ahead in both South Dakota and Montana.
