Jasper Veterans Group Cry Foul On Rep. Hill's Speech
(JASPER) - A Dubois County veterans group is upset at Indiana 9th District Demoractic Congressman Baron Hill.
Hill spoke at a Memorial Day ceremony at the Dubois County Veteran's Council, and, during his speech, chided President George W. Bush for his plan to veto the recently passed GI Bill expansion.
Veteran's Council Secretary Ken Schuetter told the Indianapolis Star that he was upset with Hill's comments, saying he made a non-political event political, however, Hill spokesperson Katie Moreau told the Star that, though Hill didn't mean to offend anyone, he was encouraging people to ask the president to reconsider since that's part of the legislative process.
Hill is facing Republican regular Mike Sodrel for their 4th dance together in as many election cycles this November.
