House Incumbents Claim Republican Tickets

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A Cass County deputy prosecutor has won a four-way Republican primary in a state senate seat being vacated by a longtime lawmaker, while six House Republican incumbents also won.
Randall Head of Logansport won decisively and will face Democrat Linda Klinck, the deputy mayor of Logansport, in the fall election for District 18. She had no primary opponent. Longtime GOP Senator Thomas Weatherwax decided not to run again.
In the House, Republican incumbent winners included Representatives William Ruppel of North Manchester in District 22; Richard McClain of Logansport in District 24; Amos Thomas of Brazil in District 44; Ralph Foley of Martinsville in District 47; Dan Leonard of Huntington in District 50; and Phyllis Pond of New Haven in District 85.
