(BLOOMFIELD) - John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Jim Schellinger won the largest primaries in Greene County last night.
For Greene County Superior Court judge, on the Republican ticket, Dena Benham Martin defeated Dave Powell. Martin will go on to face Jacob Fish, who defeated Karen R. Strueh in the Democratic primary.
Sturart A. Dowden won the Republican primary for Greene County Treasurer, and will continue into the November generals facing Democrat Shelby Meurer, who was uncontested.
For Greene County Surveyor, Timothy Jones took a landslide win over opponent James Tibbett in the Democatic primary. Jones will face the uncontested Republican I.T. "Butch" Wright in November.
For Greene County Commissioner, Democrat Kermit Holtsclaw defeated two contenders and will now take on Republican Kathleen "Kathy" M. Crouch in District 1.
District 2 County Commissioner will see Republican Nathan "Nate" Abrams take on Democrat Steve Lindsey. Both Abrams and Lindsey had two challengers to defeat in their respective primaries.
And in the Vote 3 race of Greene County Council at Large, Republicans Jerry R. Frye, Ken Gremore and Carolyn White will challenge Democrats William L. "Butch" Brown, Rae Della Cravens and David "Scott" Richards. Republican Carolyn White was defeated in the Republican primary.
For Bloomfield School Board at Large, John W. Combs and Dwayne E. Hostetter came out on top of a 9 way dance for 2 seats.
Linton Stockton School Board District 1 was taken by John D. Preble.
For MSD Shakamak School Board, District 1 was taken by Jeffrey B. Miller, District 3 by Brian Stockrahm.
