(INDIANAPOLIS) - For the first time in 18 days, Democratic presidential rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have appeared in the same building — this time, the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The candidates focused less on each other than On John McCain and Republicans in general.

Clinton declared McCain represents "more of the same" in Iraq and on the economy, while Obama thundered, "we can't afford four more years of George Bush policies, even if John McCain's the one who's presenting them."

Clinton even soft-pedaled the gas tax holiday she's made her signature issue. Obama attacked the proposal as a symbol of what he calls Washington's tendency to focus on winning elections instead of solving problems.
