(INDIANAPOLIS) - Seventh District U.S. Congressman Andre Carson, D-Indianapolis, is casting his Superdelegate vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Carson is the first of Indiana's five U.S. House democrats to reveal who he supports for president. Carson is finishing his grandmother's term. He has seven challengers in the May 6 primary.

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for Carson's grandmother Julia Carson when she was running for re-election to the congressional district that represents Indianapolis.

He says he has a lot of respect for both the former president and Hillary Clinton, but must vote from his heart.

Carson says Obama will endorse him for re-election to the 7th District.

Indiana has 13 Superdelegates to cast at the democratic convention--those added to its 59 regular electoral votes, gives the state 72 delegates.
