Daniels Has Healthy Warchest For Gubernatorial Campaign

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels has announced his war chest being well-built for this year’s general election.
The incumbent republican governor has no primary contest to worry about for the May 6th ballot, however, two Democrats, former Congresswoman Jill Long Thompson, and architect Jim Schellinger, are duking it out with each other to take on the governor on the November ballot.
Governor Daniels says he has built up a current cash-on-hand of $5.2 million, which, the campaign says, is $2 million more than what they had at this point in 2004. That's a big deal more than what both Democrats had available as of January.
A realclearpolitics.com article from January 17th listed Long Thompson as having $435,000 on hand, and Schellinger with 1.8 million.
